The purpose of the article is to consider the current state of high-tech enterprises from the standpoint of organizing business processes, planning financial and economic activities, digital transformation and to determine the directions of their development. Based on the systematization of the key issues of functioning of enterprises of the military-industrial complex as the most important component of the high-tech sphere of Russia, the problems of planning activities due to dependence on state regulation of processes affecting the life of the enterprise are identified. The problems of imperfect pricing, difficulties in maintaining and developing financial stability in the context of dependence on state policy, as well as personnel problems and the complexities of the digital transformation of enterprises are highlighted. The author has determined that in order to maintain a stable state of a knowledge-intensive enterprise in modern conditions, it is necessary to have a significant amount of work with various deadlines for completion of work, including through the development of cooperative and integration links. To solve personnel issues, it is necessary to develop a system of obtaining specialized education for industry workers. To improve the quality of digitalization and automation processes, it is necessary to establish regulated management of information resources. The article proposes measures to develop measures of state support for enterprises of the military-i ndustrial complex; the need to revise the models of international cooperation and increase the export potential in this area is substantiated; the key role of a modern motivation system for professional development and retention of talented employees in knowledge-intensive organizations is highlighted. The result was the identified areas of strategic development of knowledge-intensive enterprises based on systematization and an integrated approach to solving key problems of the functioning of the defense-industrial complex of Russia.
