The purpose of the article is to assess the behavioral practices and attitudes of the youth of the Russian regions from the standpoint of their readiness to exercise their political rights. The empirical base of the work was the materials of mass surveys of young people living in St. Petersburg, Altai Territory, Leningrad and Novosibirsk regions. Based on their analysis, the assessment is made of the current level of political activity of Russian youth in various types of regions and a rating of preferred forms of political participation is formed. Trends in the growth of political activity on the Internet and the desire of young people to shift costs and efforts to solve their problems to other actors, in particular the state, are traced. The level of youth readiness to participate in rallies and demonstrations, including in unauthorized protests, is assessed. As a result of the study, there is a reluctance of youth to join political organizations, and even more so to create them. Based on cross-regional analysis, the differentiation of youth readiness to exercise their political rights depending on the type of region has been proved.Downloads
