UNIVERSAL SCIENTIFIC ETHOS AND CULTURAL SPECIFICS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENTIFIC POTENTIAL OF THE MODERN RESEARCHER

Abstract

Based on the analysis of the relationship between the universalism of the scientific ethos and the characteristics of the development of science in various civilizational and cultural conditions, the article reveals the influence of cultural factors on the formation and realization of the scientific potential of the modern researcher. The purpose of the article is to determine the parameters of culture that affect the modalities of science functioning and the possibility of developing the scientific potential of researchers working in a particular cultural environment. Cultural factors of the development of scientific potential are considered in the context of the relationship of science with other forms of knowledge, religion, ideological orientations, features of national consciousness. The need of society in introducing the products of research and capitalization of science, the social significance of science and the ability of the scientific community to maintain autonomy, self-regulation and defend their interests depend on the characteristics of the cultural environment. It is argued that the relationship between the values of scientific rationality and the value orientations that dominate in a given society is essential for the development of scientific potential. One of the most important parameters of the value system is the ratio of the values of survival and self-expression. The author comes to the conclusion that it is necessary to take into account cultural parameters in forecasting the development of scientific potential.
