The subject of the study is the Eurasian space as a complex, multi-level structure in which different geometry of state cooperation has developed: in the format of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The methodological navigator of economic integration is the Eurasian idea, which has undergone a transformation from the concept of “Russia is Eurasia” to the theories of “multipolar Eurasia”, “interworld”, “Greater Eurasian Partnership” or “Greater Eurasia”. Attention is drawn to the real progress achieved by the EAEU (general market of goods, labor, services (in more than 40 spheres), the customs union, involvement of other countries in the free trade area). The purpose of the article is to examine the problematic aspects of Serbian participation in the EEU, which is largely related to the pressure of the European Union. It is concluded that the awareness of similar national problems related to ensuring economic development, political stability, regional security, preserving one’s own identity will further expand partnerships and strengthen cross-border communications not only in economic but also in other areas of cooperation. Some ways are proposed to improve the efficiency of cross-border interactions based on the guidelines of Eurasian integration, its real possibilities.Downloads
