Abstract

The subject of this article is the political and institutional design of civil society in Russia. On the basis of complex analysis, the authors attempted historical periodization of the institutional design of civil society, outlined the preconditions for the formation of civil society, characterized the main trends in the development of civil society at each stage of its development. It is justified that the formation of civil structures is not a consequence of the Western concept of civil society, but it was influenced by the historical and cultural development of Russian society, the mentality of the Russian people, with the participation of the state. Particular attention is paid to the transformation of civil society institutions and the problems inherent in the current stage of the development of Russia. The main conclusion from the proposed material is the empirically substantiated periodization of the institutional history of the formation of civil society in the Russian Federation.
