MONITORING OF INTERETHNIC RELATIONS AS AN INSTRUMENT OF POLITICAL CONTROL OF URBAN CONFLICTS

Abstract

The article reflects the results of monitoring interethnic relations in the big cities of Krasnodar Region. It was based on an expert poll conducted by the authors in April-May 2017. During the opinion poll, respondents were asked to answer to two blocks of questions. The first one was devoted to the dynamics and problems of interethnic relations, the second one to the possibilities of organizing their monitoring at the regional and local level. The results of the study allow us to conclude that, with the overall stabilization of relations in this area, a number of signs indicate the possibility of forming deep contradictions in the future. The main factor of this state of affairs is the active migration to large cities of the region from other regions. Therefore, it is recommended to develop a system for monitoring interethnic relations and ethnically tainted urban conflicts within the framework of the national concept that is implemented at the present time, as well as the gradual expansion of its action to cover the problems of social tensions as a whole.
