The article is devoted to the problems of devolution in Britain today. The article presents various approaches to the terminology of the concept of "devolution". A special attention is paid to the so-called ‘West Lothian question’ associated with the autonomization of England as one of the four regions of the United Kingdom. The author discusses the various projects to expand the management functions of large communities of English cities, and also analyses the "English question" in the context of the referendum on Scottish independence in 2014 and Britain’s leaving the EU in 2016. The purpose of this article is to consider the problem of regionalization of England itself in the context of the devolution policy, as well as an analysis of the so-called "West Lothian issue" within the political processes of modern Britain.Downloads
