The purpose of the article is to substantiate an integrated approach to overcoming poverty on the basis of a sociological analysis of the contemporary phenomenon of it. The problem of poverty is one of the priorities for the state policy today, and significant resources are allocated to its solution. Overcoming poverty is impossible with the help of only economic or social support measures for various categories of the population. Poverty is a complex multidimensional, multifactorial phenomenon that requires a well-founded comprehensive strategy to reduce, or ideally eliminate, poverty. The sociological approach to the development of the strategy for overcoming poverty makes it possible to provide reliable feedback in the implementation of the relevant state policy, to increase targeting and demand for support of certain social groups of the population. As a result, the analysis carried out by the authors made it possible to formulate the following provisions. The approach to determining the absolute poverty level used by the Federal State Statistics Service does not give an accurate idea of its scale. The socioeconomic environment and its dynamics have a decisive influence on the poor. The steady growth of poverty is currently associated with economic and social factors. At the same time, the formation of the organizational and managerial mechanism of the strategy for overcoming poverty should be based on an integrated approach.Downloads
