Abstract

The purpose of the article is to characterize models of higher education and foreign experience in organizing the educational process within the framework of the concept of “lifelong education”, to study their socializing influence, and also to consider ways to integrate foreign experience into the practice of domestic higher education. Currently, the educational space of higher and lifelong education is transformed - a tendency towards a shift in the key emphasis from educational content to the student’s personality and the creation of comfortable educational environment are clearly identified. Distance forms of work begin to play an increasingly important role. In this regard, the study of progressive learning models and their role in the socialization of a modern student becomes relevant. The basis of the work was the results of the international internship “Modern Methods of Improving the Educational Process in Higher Education” of the Winners of the Best Practices Competition of the Presidential Academy (RANEPA), season 2018/2019 in educational institutions of the Republic of Austria and the Republic of Slovenia. The article substantiates the main trends in the development of modern education and its socializing influence on modern students. Firstly, the tendency to reduce the supervisory functions of the educational organization. Secondly, the request of the educational environment for the “student of the future”, “self-student”; individuals with highly developed internal motives for education. Thirdly, increasing requirements for students at the entrance to the educational process with objectively low skill abilities of modern youth. The author comes to the conclusion that education models based on the principles of reducing control against the background of the teacher’s quality development, and giving the student equal rights with the teacher to change the space of the training course, are currently a natural response to the challenges of an actively developing information society and the demand for a polyprofile basic graduate training.
