The purpose of the work is to consider the possibility of attracting the potential of civil society in the fight against extremist manifestations. The article is devoted to the priorities of improving the policy of countering extremism in the political process of modern Russia. The research subject is to examine the priorities of the implementation of state policy to counter extremism in modern Russia. The content of problems arising in the process of practical implementation of the interaction between public institutions and state authorities in the field of counteracting radical ideological theories and political practices is revealed. The author's conclusions on improving the policy of interaction with civil society institutions that are able to participate in the implementation of the state strategy in the fight against extremism are presented. As a result of the study, it is determined that the most effective partner of the state in countering the extremism threat may be the public system of ensuring national security of Russia. It is argued, unlike most public associations and organizations, the subjects of the non-governmental security sector have such signs as corporate cohesion, possibility of self-financing, stable structure, and authority among young people. The article substantiates the need to adjust the doctrinal foundations of the policy of countering political extremism in order to develop adequate forms of cooperation with public associations in the fight against radicalization of Russian society.Downloads
