BASIC PRIORITIES OF EXPANDING INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION DURING FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM AND EXTREMISM

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to determine the main directions of development of international cooperation at the present stage in the fight against terrorism and extremism, which have become global threats of the 21st century. The scale of international terrorism requires a collective international solution in the imperative of forming a common goal, as well as methods and means of struggle. However, this format has shown today its lack of effectiveness due to the predominance of national interests over global ones. The research methodology is based on a systematic analysis of international cooperation within the framework of this problem. The analysis of the current state of the system of international cooperation in the field of combating international terrorism and extremism with the distribution of levels of international criminal policy, as well as the prospects for its development. As a result, it was revealed that in the current world order, some countries use separate terrorist organizations as a tool to achieve certain geopolitical goals, violating international law and reducing the credibility of international organizations. In conclusion, it was pointed out that in order to increase the effectiveness of the fight against manifestations of international terrorism and extremism, it is necessary to develop a system of international law, which is an integral part of international relations and the state foreign policy, while increasing the authority of international organizations.
