PRACTICES OF PUBLIC CHALLENGE IN THE CENTRAL CHERNOZEM REGION IN 2018: TOPICS AND MODELS

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to review some practices of public challenge by organized political actors of the Central Chernozem Region in 2018 to determine their future use by citizens. The object of the study is the protest behavior and actions of citizens regarding state and political decisions in the Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk and Tambov regions, as in regions with varying economic models and the degree of political competition. The main source of empirical data is the data of all-Russian sociological surveys (Levada-Center), the data of analytical centers on the level of protest activity, publications in regional media, videos, photos from the official websites of the organizers of the largest protests in the Central Chechen Republic in 2018 regional branches of the Communist Party, network protest groups. The author comes to the conclusion that the tendency recorded in 2008-2009 remains when, thanks to the organizing resource of political parties and public associations, the share of All-Russian shares significantly exceeds the contribution of local protests.
