The authors consider the income of the population as a source of economic growth. The significance of economic growth is substantiated, accompanied by an increase in production opportunities and producing an increase in the well-being of the population. The problems of economic growth and welfare of the population and their interrelations are analyzed. There is a lot of indirect evidence confirming the need to increase the income of the population and reduce their differentiation in order to achieve economic progress. It is presented that in Russia today the population can not act as a driver of economic growth, since all levels of the population (including relatively well-off) are reducing consumer demand in order to adapt to the crisis.Downloads
