Abstract

The article examines the political features of the prospects of agrarian reform in Russia at the beginning of the twentieth century. The prerequisites for the emergence of party projects on the solution of the agrarian question are analyzed. The issue of the overdue reorganization of land use, which became one of the main reasons for the activation of mass peasant rallies, was at the beginning of the twentieth century the subject of discussion of the political elite of Russian society. From the way it was supposed to solve it, the success of the country's economic development as a whole depended on. It is concluded that the political confrontation, the struggle for power, pushed the economic significance of agrarian projects to the background. During the First World War, peasant discontent became increasingly used for political purposes. But none of the projects proposed by major political parties to solve the peasant question was not only economically justified and politically prepared, but also relied only on their conviction that the structure of social thinking and the correctness of their own ideological constructions were correct.
