EVALUATION OF MAJOR SPHERES OF THE REGION PUBLIC LIFE BY POPULATION (ON THE MATERIALS OF THE OREL REGION)

Abstract

The article presents the population's assessment of the main spheres of social life in the region. The formulated conclusions and provisions are based on the results of a sociological survey "Socio-political and socio-economic situation in the Orel region", conducted at the Department of Sociology and Information Technology in September-October. The population's assessment of the main spheres of social life in the region is an indicator of regional development. The existing public opinion on these or other issues allows us to identify the specific features of socio-economic and political processes in the region and determine the choice of the most effective regional development strategy. The results of the studies used for analysis allowed the authors to compare the assessment of regional and national scale, identify the most problem areas and topical issues. The analysis led to the conclusion that the population of the Orel region assesses the economic sphere most negatively, while in the assessments of the social and spiritual spheres positive evaluations predominate. Generally formed public opinion indicates a favorable social climate in the region and the country in general, a satisfactory level of social well-being, a high level of spiritual culture, morality and patriotism of the population of the region.
