HISTORICAL CONSCIOUSNESS OF MODERN STUDENT YOUTH: SOCIOLOGICAL ASPECT

Abstract

The article presents a sociological analysis of the peculiarities and contradictory nature of the historical consciousness of Russian youth. On the basis of an empirical study of the attitude of Orel students towards the October Revolution of 1917, the author analyzes the features of the historical consciousness of modern youth. The author concludes that the historical consciousness of young Russians has a paradoxical character that is determined by the conflicts and the variety of value-normative models of history, the conjuncture of the official model of Russian history, the deformation of historical education and upbringing. The article concludes about the importance of the subjective factor in the process of formation of the historical consciousness of young people, namely the role of significant adults.
