EXTREMISM IN THE CONCEPTION OF SOCIAL AND HUMANITARIAN KNOWLEDGE

Abstract

n the article the urgency of the consideration of extremism problem from the standpoint of an integrated multi-dimensional approach is substantiated. The dynamics of the number of extremist crimes in the Russian Federation for the period of 2003-2016 is shown. The authors give reason that there should be a consideration of extremism as a complex, multi-dimensional, social, cultural and historical phenomenon. The article deals with the dominant approaches to the definition of extremism in the modern social-humanitarian knowledge. The basic forms of extremism discussed in today's scientific publications are revealed. It is determined that extremism has intolerance of pluralism of opinions and cultures, but also a desire to fight them actively for destruction.
