Abstract

The problem of society’s attitude to its past under changing conditions of postmodernity is concerned in the article. The issues related to the understanding of the role of memory in shaping of individual and collective consciousness are analyzed. Based on the philosophical understanding of the social-cultural context of postmodernism reveals its basic characteristics that determine the representation of the past.
