The purpose of the article is to examine the characteristics of the formation and development of the processes of transnationalization of science, as well as their impact on the innovation and technological security of states. The globalization of the economy contributes to the acceleration of innovation, including the development of the world market of intellectual property. And here a prominent role is played by the patent policy of transnational corporations, which are striving for global innovation leadership. The article focuses on the analysis of the motives for creating corporate patent portfolios that strengthen the competitive position of TNCs in the global market of intellectual property. The author substantiates the position that in order to maintain sustainable competitive advantages in the global market of intellectual property, international innovation companies actively trace the emergence of new technologies already at the stage of basic research, thereby deepening the technological gap between states even in conditions of technological globalism. Among the mechanisms for the formation of patent portfolios of leading innovative companies, high-tech strategic alliances, cross-licensing agreements, and diversification of knowledge-intensive industries have high efficiency.Downloads
